Zazen Boutique Resort & Spa is the well-loved and personal creation of a dedicated family, and the friends who have joined them, over a history stretching back twenty-five years.
Zazen Resort was founded by Mister Wa Fathaveeporn, who is now 75 years old. Born in Hainan, China, he lived all his life in Koh Samui with his wife, Mrs Somboun Suksom, herself born and raised on the island. Mister Wa was a fisherman. While he was at sea, his wife stayed at home to educate their nine children.
More or less twenty-five years ago, the first travelers arrived in Koh Samui. Mister Wa, his wife and their children started to build a few bamboo huts and bungalows to welcome the first backpackers and hippies.
Through the years, several sons and daughters haven taken care of the guesthouse and have welcomed tourists and travelers from around the world.
Nowadays it is the turn of Ti, the youngest daughter of the household, and her Belgian fiancé Alexander Andries, who graduated in Tourism and Hotel Management in Brussels, to welcome you the modern day Zazen Boutique Resort & Spa Samui.
This young couple, full of new ideas, changed the somewhat old-fashioned place into a distinctive, contemporary and quite unique boutique tropical resort in Samui.

The Rouge Lounge invites guests for pre and post dinner drinks, wines with an extensive wine list numbering over one hundred wines, on display in a freshly created glass cellar and cocktails from a range including exclusive surprises and many specialties. Comfortable sofa chairs and a central pool table allow for new friendships to be made a shared experience to savour.
Located on the waterfront, next to the restaurant and pool, the lounge is a perfect gathering point for guests and a centre point of the Zazen social scene. In the evening the atmosphere is warm and sultry, with red Moroccan lighting and great tunes, creating the ideal setting for sipping cocktails, relaxing after dinner and getting to meet some people around the pool table. Koh Tao

To start your memorable day, you will discover Koh Nang Yuan, a petite island famous for its pristine sandy beaches. Admire thousands of colourful fish happily home in the turquoise blue seawater.
