Don't trick by its photos! The cleanliness is horrible and very smelly the moment you entered. Some guests wore normal clothing for swimming and you can feel the pool is warm! ( kids urinate)
There are bed bugs as well sucking your blood and my neck, hands, legs, body got sucked too!
Not satisfy at all with the 500/night stay.
However,Cherating Beach is superb. The sand is so fine and walk further along the beach you will discover live rare shell, star fish and I even had natural free fish spa there.
Holiday Villa Beach Resort Cherating is not worth to go at all but not the beach. Choose other hotel.

Went there for a family day last week. The resort look rundown & unkept. Should be well maintained if want to attract more tourist. The food is nice though. Lot of variety for breakfast but the room especially bedsheet is dirty. Should do mosquito fogging once a month caused a lot of mosquito especially in chalet. Overall, I will give 2 star only for a 4 star resort and I might come again next time when a lot of improvement is done.

The 1st impression when we reached the main entrance was really bad, the whole place look rundown, with fried leaves all over the entrance, the hotel condition was in deplorable state, the reception was cold & not friendly, after handled over the keys, she asked us to check out the rooms on our own. The rooms door were difficult to open, the rooms smell like no one stay there for century. We left without even putting a night there eventhough we have paid for 2 rooms for 2 nights stay. This hotel should be downgraded to 1 star to reflect the actual state of the hotel so that holiday makers will not be fooled by the photos in the website.

Went there in 2002. The only thing I remember about this hotel is that the towel in my room was like a rag with tiny holes here and there. Even my kain buruk at home are not in that condition and my maid has mistakenly thought that those kain buruk were face towels. If this is what you have at home, what would you expect if you go to a hotel where you pay to sleep? Is this the hotel which has a tag line of "Let us Manja U"? Forget it!!! With regard to the comments on the pool attire, generally I think this is the problem we have in Malaysia. The pool rules must be enforced. Allow modest swimming attire for Muslims and some Christians. Keep pool water level to at least 1.5 metres. If you can't swim and just want to be "badak berendam" (hippo) go to the wading pool. Ahaks!!

Stayed here end of last February. And i HATED it. Pool's warm. The room was alright(we took the chalet), rather nice, but everything wasn't in working order. The t.v kept flickering, and would padam from time to time and we had to stamp our feet on the floor to get it working again. Shower screen couldn't be closed.
The food was lousy, don't know where they got their chef..
One of the staff was VERY VERY rude! I was trying to call room service, so i dialled the number written in the hotel directory folder, then this idiot who answered the phone suddenly shouted and yelled asking who i was, i kept my cool and asked who HE was, when he started to shout more. So i asked,"is this how u talk to your guests?",and then he hung up.
I reported it to the front desk officer,i asked to speak to the duty manager but was told that he/she won't be in till 5pm(it was 3pm at the time). She told me that she would report it to the D.M and that D.M would get back to me when the he/she comes in. But, the D.M never did get back to me, so i had to call them back myself,so at 9pm i did,and they didn't sound too eager to layan the problem! They just said they were sorry and it was the housekeeping supervisor thinking i was one of his staff and that the number was not in use for the restaurant anymore,it's used by the housekeeping, just didn't have the time to change it in the folder just yet. And that was that, to them that was all that needed to be done.. No reparation no nothing. At least last time when we went to Casuarina Ipoh when we told them there were roaches in the room, after changing our room they gave us a plate of brownies

Stay there during school holiday 2D3N. Nice place to stay and nice beach as well. Romm is so-so since I book for 2 rooms & my parents room the toilet sink was leaking & spoil. Called the maintenance & they said they need to take out the whole sink to repair. Nothing that can be done accept to use the sink with all the water running thru the floor. The wc also have some problem.
Food was good but with limited choice. Not many variety.
Staff were friendly too. The only problem is on the first day itself, the whole hotel blackout for 2-3 minutes. Luckily the electricity is back to normal quite fast, other wise don't know what we going to do.
There is plenty of gerai that u can eat outside where u can go at night.
The hotel got 2 swimming pools & of course a lot of guess were in the pool with complete dress.

It was ok... the people there are very frenly from the desk manager to the room service, Room service was quick!
BUT the things in the hotel room were a bit too old and need maintance. THe bath tub has this stain that cannot be remove, the pillow is smelly and the room to the door cannot be close properly without a big bang! The blanket has a smell that we have to put it away into the cupboard.
Swimming pool! How dissapointing! The rules wrote "PLEASE WEAR SWIMMING ATTIRE AND NO T-SHIRTS AND SHORTS ALLOWED" with such big capital letter but yet everyone in the pool wears t-shirt, shorts, baju kurung, tudung and long pants etc every single imaginable attire plus too many ppl rendam rendam kaki by the pool side!!!!
This is a 4 stars hotel please maintain it as a 4 stars.

I am usually not choosy. The hotel is not bad, given their constraints. The only real problem I encountered was with drinking water. There was an electric 'kettle' in the room but it was hidden in the cupboard which looked like an ordinary cupboard. As a result, and because I was rushing out somewhere, I drank tap water from the toilet. Later, I asked a worker where I could get drinking water and he told me to buy mineral water from the Beach Restaurant. I then asked the receptionist and she got the Lagenda restaurant to give me some - for free. :) Maybe she should have enlightened me about the kettle. Maybe the kettle should be placed outside on the table or the cupboard should be labelled.
The hotel staff were very friendly.

From the comments, I can feel that the hotel management is poor. I need to reconsider to spent my June2005 Holiday there.

The service was okay. But the only thing that I was upset is the room. It has some smell that I cannot bear. The toilet cannot be lock too. Furthermore, I can feel the spring of the matress.

The hotel services is to bad.
I am booking two rooms in palace wing hotel room, but the hoteler given to us is capital wing hotel room, without inform us the change of room, after we find out the room is not what we booking, that the hoteler change back the room to us, it like cheating us, the attitude of the hoteler and his superior also very bad, we need to wait about 30 min just for waiting for our new room, the swing pool also not in services in green colour, is that a good hotel in malaysia?
