2010-09-29 17:24:14   myfamily   the only reason we choosed this hotel is due to its the central location. walking distance to a taxi stand (at the hotel open air carpark), a couple of duty free outlets and 2 chinese restaurants. in fact, breakfast was okay but don't expect variety. the food are almost the same on our second morning. only comment was we tried to book our reef platform coral visit at the Business Centre. We were informed by a young Chinese and chubby looking staff that should the trip is cancel, we won't get any refund! the visit to the reef platform is rather expensive and we have to pay in full amount. we repeatedly asked him to assure what could be the reason if the company cancel the trip.his answer was bad wheather. we further asked him that should not be at our cost if the company cancel the trip. he insisted that is the company policy and the risk we need to take! unbelievable, so i started to make some calls to other local travel agents (collected from the airport) . we were then told, we do get refund if the company cancel the trip due to bad weather. refund not allowed if we (travellers) cancel due to personal reasons. wrong info almost spoil and deter our plan to book the platform visit. other than that, our trip to langkawi was overall good. 2010-03-11 17:31:35   dzexy_mz   we stayed there for 3d/2n, so far ok, bathroom got bathtub, bfast so-so, but over all is ok, except the receptionist;---->to add more smile.they give 1st class service for foreigner but not for local like we didn't deserve for it.we also pay the same what?????i strongly disagree with the customer service. Good view hotel, nearby pekan kuah, variety of food, friendly staffs except the girl at reception that 'perasan cantik' i guess, no friendly face at all but if with a man (seem like bosses) she will give a huge smile. The Flamingo cafe looks much better than the picture.I guess they must have been improving the cafeteria very well.The food there is ok as they serve those food where every cafeteria would serve like cereal,milk,eggs,coffee,tea with local delicacies such as noodles and the "nasi lemak". The hotel is located in the town so it is convenient to shop for liquor and chocolates. However,the room is not to what I expected based on the pictures we see in various website.It looks old but the toilet is clean and nice.I feel that if improvement been made I'm sure I will recomment to all the people Date of stay: 2008 Oct

2008-05-29 15:54:25   Nazizi   stay for 4 days 3 nights in deluxe room. The room was spacious and in good condition, even the bathroom is big. The satff was friendly. Food - was OK, std range of breakfast in all hotels in Malaysia. At least it is not tasteless... Overall,we are satisfied and if we were to visit Langkawi again - we would choose this hotel.... 2007-07-23 19:20:31   xanaya   The hotel's condition was horrible, looked old and was so run-down. After reading all the good reviews, i was shocked and disappointed to find the place to be like this. The room was really smelly, smelled of mold and mildew. The bed was not comfortable. Breakfast had no variety at all. Thank God we only had to stay here for 1 night only. And what's there to shop? There's nothing to shop for in Langkawi.. I would give this place a 3-star.. 2007-06-02 14:11:34   dpacemaker   Nice bathroom, too bad there is no bath foam. We used the body shampoo as substitute for the bath foam, but there was insufficient of foams. However, the housekeepers were excellent in view that they rearrange our toiletrie back into order and place them properly standing on the basin counter. The room is clean and quite empty though. They could improve on this section by adding more decoratives. There is no private beach, but is very convenient due to its location in Kuah town. We bought many chocolates and liqour. You can put your alcohol in the fridge untouched by the housekeepers. Wonderland Seafood Restaurant as recommended by Hotel staff was perfectly excellent. I commend the Hotel Staff which works at the Business Centre on the 21 - 23 May 2007. However, he failed to mention that one of the waterfalls has dried up. Other than that, he's quite good in guiding tourists. The breakfast buffet was averagely satisfying. Average variety but mostly are not delicious, especially the milk for cereals, which doesnt taste like milk, more like white liquids. The congee has nice white colour, but...it smells burnt. I wonder how they do it??? The tea container at the buffet has many Boh tea bags tied to it...but it tastes like chinese herbal tea...how is this possible??? Not too bad hotel, but only if you're not fussy wussy people. Other than that, it is overall an enjoying stay =) Date of stay: 2007 May

Of course the fact that I usually choose non peak times to travel is a plus, what with cheaper rates and less people.. The room, is HUGE! I stayed in the the sea view room, with the govt rate, definitely worth every single cent! There is an adjoining sitting area with a second tv set.- and a second toilet (no rushing to use the single toilet if the need arise) and the bathroom is to die for - spacious and so relaxing. If you are travelling with family, space is definitely not a problem. Location wise, it's ideal for people with retail therapy in mind. No hassle with getting taxis (though the taxi stand is just a stone's throw away). No comments about the staff as I didn't rely on their assistance much. The breakfast buffet had good variety and I must admit the sambal sotong for the nasi lemak was way better than the one I had at the 5 star resort I stayed the day before! all in all, highly recommended! p/s: There's also a pool. but be warned, this hotel is very popular among govt people looking for a place for their so called meetings.... It is strategically located within a striking distance for our wife (ves) to show the buying prowess. I would recommend this for those requires a good accomodation with reasonable charges.
