Internet was at a good speed and free. No direct lift access to the carparks and repeated breakfast each day. Date of stay: 2008 Dec

2008-09-10 17:00:39   jaclws   Our room was upgraded from standard room to suite type much to our pleasure due to inavailability of king size bed we requested. The room was oblivious very much to our satisfaction....spacious, nice ambience, contemporary interior, cozy bathroom with jacuzzi.....simply marvelous! The only set back was we were pretty dissapointed with the swimming pool facility as there was only an adult pool with no sight of children pool at all. I reckon that this is a tad inconsiderate given that many family with children in vacation would have look forward to a fun dip in the pool! I really hope that the management would consider building one in the near future, else i bet staying in Gurney Suite would be more fun for us.......... Date of stay: 2008 Aug

2008-07-07 00:34:47   omsakti   I booked a Deluxe Suite. Check in was fast. The room was big. Bathroom was large with 2 sinks. 1 large jacuzzi, separate shower area, and 1 separate toilet. Another powder room is located at the entrance. That was really useful. Room was clean. Air-conditioned was not really cold (but that seemed to be a problem everywhere these days ever since the electricity tariff hike). Living room curtains was sheer, so feel very exposed there as the next door Cititel is quite close by. Swimming pool not very clean though. With the price I got from Cuti's booking, I think it was a pretty good deal. Will stay there again. Date of stay: 2008 Jul

2007-10-31 12:05:49   dhrax   A good hotel overall but with a few flaws. Good stuff: Suite is clean & spacious. 2 TV's (in bedroom and living room). 2 toilets too. Jacuzzi in room is nice for a relaxing soak and can even view the TV in the bedroom from it. Seaview rooms have a great view of the sea. Staff were friendly and helpful. Minor complaints: Rooms were cold even when air-cond was turned off. Breakfast selection was the same everyday and some dishes were cold. Should have power outlet sockets near the bed for convenience (charging handphone, etc). Swimming pool is small. Major complaints: No lift from carpark to lobby and the stairs are very narrow. No free internet access - for a hotel that markets itself as a business hotel, it should be understood that internet access is now a must for most business travellers. It would be better to replace the fax machines in the room with free wifi internet access, not charge customers RM25 for 24 hours usage. Even 2/3 star hotels are offering free wifi access. Conclusions - A good hotel, but others in Penang (eg - Gurney) can offer better facilities at similar rates. I like this hotel but, due to the bad internet access policy, I will look for an alternative for my next trip to Penang. Date of stay: 2007 Oct

2007-06-07 17:43:28   honey   Went last weekend. Paid for 2 types of suites - Junior and Deluxe suite. My suite - Junior - the wooden floor are broken and peeled, and it has one kind of smell. The toilet, jacuzi and other facilities are ok but the towel is not in a good condition. One of the towel is tear and with holes. window blind is spoilt, I cannot lift up the blind in our bedroom so cannot enjoy the view. Food for breakfast not worth it. Very limited choise. First time I didn't enjoy food in high class hotel. Deluxe suite, the powder room/guest restroom - water is every where on the floor. Again the towel - is not really clean, you still can see unclean spot. The room furnished with wall to wall carpet but you can smell the wet carpet. Towel are also torn. Additional pillow requested - and they send a small "hard" pillow with extremely big pillow case. And the pillow case should be in white color but this one - it is yellowish white with some brownish spot. Smell is not fresh at all. I wonder maybe this is the housekeeping pillow. Overall it is not worth it. I can get better hotel at the same rate with the better swimming pool. The swimming pool size is the same size of my neighbour's koi pond. Choose not to stay anymore in this hotel. Date of stay: 2007 Jun

2007-03-05 18:12:31   foongyee   i stayed is the executive suite during the new year and the room is excellent. great sea view from the room. just the swimming pool on the 9th floor is a little dirty... there were sand inside!!! And the guest before me put roses patels in the jaccuzzi and stuck the whole tub. but i got my room change very quickly. the staffs are nice. My best hotel stay so far. note: there are no lift to the carparks. my advise is unload your luggagesat the hotel entrance before u enter to the carpark. Date of stay: 2007 Feb

2006-12-01 13:27:45   famch   I had to book direct from the hotel since booking through Cuti was not possible as the rooms were not available. I sent them a reservation form via their website but no one responded to me despite after 24 hours. I had to call the hotel long distance and they only realised my email when I called. I found out that my room was not available despite that when my sister (who was then not with me) had called the hotel after I made the booking and was told a deluxe room was available. Because of the delay in their response I was not able to get a deluxe room. I then booked 2 junior suite and asked them to refer to my email for my details which they said they would. Again no one respond for half a day. I called back and asked for particulars of my reservation since I now have no confidence in them. True enough, the reservation officer made a mistake and only booked one night for me when over the phone and in my email specifically mentioned two nights. How I wished I could manage to book with Cuti because all my past experiences with Cuti had been very good. I'll see how the hotel and service are when I check in on 24th. Dec.
