Chon Buri- Out-Of-City Attractions

Siracha Tiger Zoo
Located at the 20-km. marker on Highway No. 36, Amphoe Si Racha, this zoo has a large number of Bengal tigers, as well as crocodiles and other animals, which feature in daily shows 9.00 a.m.- 5.00 p.m. Open daily from 8.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.

Khao Kheow Open Zoo
This is a vast tract of forestland operated by the Zoological Park Organization. It is located 19 km. after a left turn at Bang Phra, about 20 km. south of Chon Buri on Sukhumvit Road, Amphoe Si Racha. The Zoo contains more than 200 species of wildlife living in their natural habitat. A new feature is the Night Safari Tour by auto-trains from 6.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m.

Namtok Chan Ta Then
This waterfall is 15 km. from Sukhumvit Road on the same route to Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Amphoe Si Racha. With five secondary levels, the falls can be reached on foot by the path running alongside the stream.

Ko Sichang
A largish island in Amphoe Ko Sichang located approximately 12 km. offshore, Ko Sichang offers a quiet escape with attractive landscapes and seascapes, as well as cultural sights, notably the partially restored summer palace built during the reign of King Rama V (1868-1910). The island has hotels and bungalows, and there are daily ferry services between Amphoe Si Racha and Ko Si Chang, Boats leave Charin Pier on Choemchompon Road every hour from 8.00 a.m. - 8.00 p.m. The trip takes about 45 minutes. For the return trip, boats leave Ko Si Chang every hour from 6.00 a.m. - 6.00 p.m.

Ko Loi
Ko Loi is a small island near the northern shore of Si Racha and has a bridge connecting to the mainland. It is a popular location for relaxing and recreation. A flight of stairs leads to the breezy hill-top of the temple which offers a delightful view of the sea.
