| World War II Sites
• Battle Box
Tucked into the hillside of Fort Canning is the Battle Box, the largest underground command centre of the British Malaya Command Headquarters during World War II. Comprising 22 rooms linked by a corridor, this complex is bomb-proof and also capable of recycling its own air supply.
Open: 10am - 6pm (Daily). Last entry is at 5pm.
Getting There: Take the MRT to Dhoby Ghaut Station (NS24) and walk uphill past Park Mall and towards Fort Canning Road. Click here to view MRT route map. |

• Changi Chapel & Museum
A beacon of hope for the hopeless. The Changi Chapel, housed within the open-air courtyard of the Museum, is a symbolic replica of the many chapels built during the Japanese Occupation.
Open: 9.30am to 5.00pm.
Getting There: Take SBS Transit bus 2 from Tanah Merah MRT station (EW4) or SBS Transit bus 29 from Tampines MRT Station (EW2). Alight at the bus stop right in front of Changi Chapel and Museum (after Changi Women's Prison/Drug Rehabilitation Centre). Click here to view MRT route map. |

• Civilian War Memorial
This memorial was erected to remember the shared experiences and struggles of the major races of Singapore during World War II. Every year on 15 February, a memorial service is held here to remember the victims of the war.

• Fort Siloso
Built by the British in the 1880s to protect the western entrance to the Singapore harbour, Fort Siloso is the only preserved British coastal fortification in Singapore today.
Open: 10am – 6pm (daily). Last admission at 5.30pm.
Getting There: Take the Sentosa Bus from Seah Im Interchange (just next to Harbourfront MRT station). On Sentosa, take the Blue or Red Line buses. Click here for more info. |

• Johore Battery
Built by the British in 1939 for the defence of Singapore, the Johore Battery is a gun emplacement site consisting of a labyrinth of tunnels. The tunnels were used to store ammunition to support three monster guns that could fire 15-inch shells.
Open: 9am - 5pm (Daily).

• Kranji War Memorial
Kranji War Memorial honours the men from Britain, Australia, Canada, Sri Lanka, India, Malaya, the Netherlands and New Zealand who gave their lives for freedom in World War II.
Open: 7am - 6pm (daily).

• Reflections at Bukit Chandu
Go back in time to 1942 when 1,400 soldiers of the Malay Regiment made their stand against 13,000 Japanese soldiers, choosing death over dishonour.
Open: 9am - 5pm (Tue - Sun).
