National Stadium
The National Stadium will always be fresh in mind for those who
witnessed Atto Boldon's success during the 16th Commonwealth Games
in Kuala Lumpur two years ago. Images of the huge and well structured
building feasted million of eyes worldwide.

Measuring 76,000 sq metres, the National Stadium, dubbed the most
prominent building at the Bukit Jalil National Sports Complex, is
a bowl shaped complex boasting three spectator tiers.
The venue housed many athletic meets, football matches, opening
ceremonies and historical events. Being a multipurpose stadium,
it can also accommodate concerts, seminars, exhibitions, Family
Day activities, corporate events and also product launches.
You will notice a giant traditional dagger or 'kris' as you make
entrance to the stadium ground. Art enthusiasts will find the surrounding
panels interesting as they show off traditional art carvings.

In addition, athletes can easily enter the competition field through
a tunnel next to the National Sports Institute upon warming up outside.
Every aspect of the edifice is built based on careful planning
and quality material. The roof for instance, is made of polyurethane.
This gives the stadium a translucent touch besides protecting it
from fungus.

At any one time, the stadium can accommodate an amazing 100,000
seated spectators with 200 spaces for the less fortunate. Wheelchair
bound audiences have easy access into the stade from designated
car parks.
There is something special about the seating arrangement. Waves
of the national flag, Jalur Gemilang is created through the combination
of colourful seating.
Spectators can make their way into the stadium through the main
concourse and move about the facility using the pedestrian plaza
encircling it.
Good news awaits media people as they have access to the news offices,
broadcast studios and technical equipment room, thus making electronic
reporting more productive.
National Stadium's lighting system is also feasible for television
coverage. The pre-programmed floodlights with metal halide lights
provide brightness up to 1,500 flux.

The north and south ends of the stadium is equipped with two coloured
video matrix scoreboards, one for information on events and competitors
and the other with a high-tech Cathode Ray Tube for fast action
video displays.
On a general note, the stadium is equipped with changing rooms,
showers, massage point, sauna rooms, security services as well as
other related arrangements both for spectators and sports people.
There is much more to the stadium than the facilities itself which
